About 5069-AEN2TR
The 5069-AEN2TR device from Allen-Bradley is an Ethernet/IP adapter. It is rated with the IEC Hazardous Locations approval rating which ensures that it is safe to use in IEC rated hazardous industrial environments. The 5069-AEN2TR adapter comes with a USB port, but this USB port is only designed to handle temporary local programming functions. This port should never be used for permanent connections in an industrial system and never used at all in hazardous environments. The 5069-AEN2TR adapter also comes with 2 Ethernet ports in the bottom for making Ethernet communication connections with a variety of devices. The first Ethernet port is the front port and the second Ethernet port is the rear port. The 5069-AEN2TR adapter can be mounted horizontally on a DIN rail.
The Allen-Bradley 5069-AEN2TR Ethernet/IP adapter should be installed as the leftmost module or component in a complete system or sequence of modules. The adapter’s network internet protocol or IP address can be set with its 3 rotary switches. The IP address and the settings of the rotary switches should not be set while the 5069-AEN2TR adapter is powered on because this can cause an electrical arc. This adapter draws power from an external source that can be an SA power source or a MOD power source. Make sure that the SA or MOD power sources are compatible with the adapter and that their power ratings are not too weak or too strong. This adapter does not come with an enclosure, so it should be installed in one that will protect it in hazardous environments. Its operating temperature range is from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
