The 1788CN2DNCC linking device from Allen-Bradley is an Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1788 series linking device. This module is similar to the Allen-Bradley 1788CN2DN linking device, but it is an enhanced version of this older linking device. The 1788CN2DNCC linking device has a conformal coating that protects it from common industrial pollutants. It is an essential component in Allen-Bradley PLC systems because it allows a ControlNet network and a DeviceNet network to be connected to each other. The 1788CN2DNCC linking module works well with devices from the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 series, PLC-5 series, or the ControlLogix series. This linking module can speed up the device configuration process and the device status monitoring process in the devices that it links together. It also supports closed loop control and simplifies the feedback signal acquisition process.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1788CN2DNCC enhanced linking device uses ladder programs to make it as easy as possible to connect DeviceNet input and output modules with sensors. It uses its ladder programs to store important input, output, and status data. It functions with a nominal voltage of 24 Volts DC. The 1788CN2DNCC enhanced linking device has 1 port for DeviceNet connections and 1 port for ControlNet connections. Each of these ports needs a node address, and the node address for each port can be set with the linking module’s rotary switches. Additionally, both ports have an LED that shows the operators when they are active, and there is a third LED for the linking module that glows green when it is operating normally and glows red when there is a fault or error.
