The Allen-Bradley 1788-EN2DN Ethernet-to-DeviceNet Linking Module is an EtherNet to DeviceNet bridge module that can mount on a DIN rail and that is designed to provide a seamless connection between the control-level networks and the device-level network. Generally, the 1788-EN2DN Linking Module can be configured as a gateway to connect the control-level RSNetWorx network to the DeviceNet network for programming, diagnostics, configuration, data collection, or control applications. The 1788-EN2DN Linking Module can also be configured as a router/bridge device to connect the Ethernet/IP network to the DeviceNet network.
The Allen-Bradley 1788-EN2DN Linking Module also offers centralized I/O tables or data storage for shared data between the Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet networks because data placed on the I/O tables by one network can be read by another network interface. By using the 1788-EN2DN Linking Module, the operators can achieve support for peep-to-peer I/O messaging, and speedy and reliable configuration since the application parameters are easily downloadable, and they can achieve support for all the standard DeviceNet baud rates (125K, 250K, and 500K bauds). The 1788-EN2DN Linking Module has an operating voltage range of 12 to 30 Volts DC (24 Volts DC nominal) and a maximum current rating of 100 milliamps at 24 Volts DC.
