The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLS480EA ATEX-Certified Power Supply is a solid-state power source that transforms an incoming 100 to 240 Volts AC or 110 to 300 Volts DC rated voltage into a stable 24 to 28 Volts DC rated voltage that is suitable for use in a wide variety of industrial, commercial, or residential applications. The output power of this power source module is of 480 Watts and it is able to deliver up to 20 Amps of output current. The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLS480EA ATEX-Certified Power Supply's most distinguishing feature is that it has been built with enhanced characteristics such as explosion-proof capabilities that make it suitable for hazardous locations. When properly installed inside a protected enclosure that receives appropriate maintenance at regular intervals, this power source will be perfectly safe in any type of industrial environment.

The Allen-Bradley 1606-XLS480EA ATEX-Certified Power Supply uses a 10 Amps slow blow fuse that is known as the 1489-A1C100 fuse in order to guarantee protection against short-circuits for the input of the power source. The steady-state input current of the Allen-Bradley 1606-XLS480EA ATEX-Certified Power Supply is 4.56 Amps at 120 Volts AC and 2.48 Amps at 230 Volts AC. The performance and quality of the 24 Volts DC rated voltage generated by the power source is monitored, and an accessory “DC OK” relay is provided in order to shut off the power to the load in case of malfunction.  Parallel operation with other power sources is allowed. All of the wiring connection terminals are quick connection terminals that are lever-operated.
