Allen-Bradley produced the 140G-G2C3-C40, a molded case circuit breaker with thermal-magnetic features to defend industrial control panel applications from thermal overcurrent and short circuits. This circuit breaker has a magnet trip rating of 500 amps and a thermal rating of 40 amps. It has an AC voltage of 8 kilovolts. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a trip unit with fixed thermal and fixed magnetic trip ratings, and this trip unit provides rapid trip action via a high current-heated bimetallic element and an electromagnetic inductor in series with the line current. The 140G circuit breakers are sized per table 450-152 of the NEC code, and they come in a very compact package with field-installable accessories that make them suitable for nearly all industrial environmental conditions. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a voltage rating of 690 volts AC per IEC standards (600 volts AC per UL/CSA standards) and a current rating of 125 amps. The interrupting rating of the 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker is 25,000 amps (25 KA), and the insulation voltage rating is 800 volts AC. The position of the 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker is indicated by its rotary switch, which opens and closes the circuit breaker's contact. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has a three-pole electrical configuration and line and load terminals that are bolted on. It has slots for internal accessories (including the auxiliary alarm, auxiliary contact, shunt trip, shunt closure, under-voltage release, and current transformer) and pigtail wiring termination for these accessories. The 140G-G2C3-C40 circuit breaker has an operating temperature limit of 40 degrees Celsius and an efficiency rating of 80% at this temperature.
