The Allen-Bradley 1305 adjustable frequency AC drives can be used to control 3-phase induction motors. The 1305 drives support several control methods for proper motor control and operation. These drives also include several protection features, and all of their control functions can be performed from their control terminal blocks. The 1305 AC drives can generate high torque levels over a wide speed range. Allen-Bradley’s 1305 series drives have output power ratings ranging from 0.37 to 4 kW at 380/460 Volts AC, and output power ratings of 0.37 to 2.2 kW at 200/230 Volts AC. These drives have typical efficiency ratings of 97.5%. RFI filters can be installed with the 1305 drives to limit the radio-frequency transmitted emissions in the main supply lines and ground wiring. The drives in this AC drive series are compatible with a variety of communication interfaces, including serial communication interfaces. The 1305 drives can be programmed through human-machine interfaces (HMIs). The HMIs have backlit LCD screens, and they support a variety of languages. Two types of cables can be used for drive installation: unshielded cables and shielded cables. Unshielded cables are sufficient for many applications, but shielded cables should be used when sensitive equipment is installed nearby. The 1305 drives may require output reactors or cable terminators if they have long cables. The reactors or terminators will ensure proper drive operation and reduce voltage reflections at the connected motors. The 1305 AC drives are protected by NEMA type 1 (IP30) enclosure. They have maximum operating temperature ratings of 50 degrees Celsius and use natural convection cooling mechanisms that do not require fans.
