The Allen-Bradley 1203-SFC cable is an industrial serial cable that is made in the Allen-Bradley 1203 communication module series to be used as an accessory for the 1203 industrial communication modules. When the 1203-SFC serial cable is used with a 1203 communication module, it plugs into the communication module’s RS-232 serial port which is a locking low-profile connector. The 1203-SFC serial cable is 2 meters or 6.5 feet long and it has different connectors on both ends. One end of the cable has a locking low-profile connector that connects to a serial converter module, and the other end of the cable has a 9-pin sub-miniature D-type female connector that connects to a computer. In addition to connecting a serial converter to a computer, the 1203-SFC serial cable can also connect a serial converter to a ControlNet module or DeviceNet module from the 1203 series.

When the 1203-SFC communication cable is connected to the serial converter module and the computer, power needs to be applied to the SCANport device or DPI device in the system.
