About 1203-USB
The 1203-USB PowerFlex converter from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation is manufactured to work with the Allen-Bradley 1203 communication modules and PowerFlex drives. The 1203-USB converter features status indicators, a drive cable port, a USB cable, a 20-HIM-H10 cable, and a 22-HIM-H10 cable. The 2-meter USB cable connects to the 1203-USB converter with its Type B end and it connects to a computer with its Type A end. The 1-meter 20-HIM-H10 cable can connect the converter to a DPI or SCANport drive, and the 1-meter 22-HIM-H10 cable can connect the converter to PowerFlex drives and DSI drives. The 1203-USB converter can also connect to Kinetix 3 drives with a 1-meter or 3-meter 2090-CCMUSDS-48AA0x cable, but this cable is sold separately.
The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1203-USB PowerFlex converter is made to connect different Allen-Bradley drives to computers to allow them to communicate. The 1203-USB converter can connect to any drive that supports the DPI communication interface, the DSI communication interface, and the SCANport communication interface (for legacy drives from the 1305 and 1336 series.) The 1203-USB PowerFlex converter communicates through the full-duplex, RS-232, DF1 protocol. The status indicators on the converter show the operators that the converter is operating and when it is sending data to the connected computer and when it is receiving data from the computer. The 1203-USB PowerFlex converter is compatible with drives from most of Allen-Bradley’s PowerFlex product lines.
The Allen-Bradley 1203-USB PowerFlex converter connects Allen-Bradley PowerFlex drives to computers in industrial control systems. It uses the full-duplex, RS-232, DF1 protocol to communicate.
