Technical Information

The ABB 6241BP10411 block is a complete I/O block with a terminal assembly and an electronics assembly. The 6241BP10411 I/O block is rated for 12/24 Volts DC and it is a source I/O block designed to provide current to field devices. The block comes with 32 circuits which can be configured to accept discrete inputs or to provide discrete outputs. With a single source, the operating voltage range is 10 to 30 Volts DC with 10% allowable ripple. The 6241BP10411 I/O block typically requires 150 milliamps of current which can go up to a maximum of 300 milliamps. The power supply dropout times are 4 milliseconds and 20 milliseconds at 12 Volts and 24 Volts, respectively. One LED is provided on the 6241BP10411 I/O block to indicate the unit’s status.

 

A separate LED is provided on the block to indicate the I/O status. Additionally, each circuit on the block comes with logic side indicators. The block to block isolation rating is 1500 Volts.  The insulation on the 6241BP10411 I/O block has a minimum resistance of 2.2 megaohms. ABB recommends 14 AWG wire for the terminal wiring and for the power wiring. The shipping weight of the I/O block is approximately 4 pounds. With 8 active inputs, the heat dissipation for the 6241BP10411 I/O block is 11 Watts and with 32 active outputs sourcing 0.5 Amps of current each, the heat dissipation can reach a maximum of 18 Watts. The temperature of air surrounding an operating 6241BP10411 block should not exceed 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Unused 6241BP10411 blocks should be kept in an area where the temperature is maintained between -40 and 212 degrees Fahrenheit. The relative humidity around the unit should be between 5 and 95%.
