Technical Information

The 6240BP10422 assembly is an electronic assembly that is manufactured by ABB/Taylor. The unit is part of the 623/624 series and it is a Model 300 I/O device. This source I/O block component operates at a voltage of 24 Volts DC and it has 16 circuits for discrete input and output applications. The 6240BP10422 electronic assembly features up to 10% voltage ripple and it needs a 150 to 300 milliamps DC power source for proper operation. The dropout time for the power supply is 10 milliseconds. The 6240BP10422 block module has an input processing time of 1.7 milliseconds and input processing time of 1.8 kiloohms. The specified input processing time does not include the selectable filter delay.

Additionally, the 240BP10422 electronic assembly has a selectable input filter time range of 5 to 100 milliseconds and it includes input diagnostics such as failed switch, open wire, and overtemperature diagnostics. The module also provides output diagnostics which include overload, short circuit, no load, failed switch, and overtemperature applications. The minimum load recommended by the manufacturer is 50 milliamps with no load enabled. The 6240BP10422 electronic assembly has a maximum output turn-on delay of 1 millisecond and an output voltage drop of up 2 Volts at an inrush current of 2 Amps. The 6240BP10422 block has an output off-state leakage current of 1 milliamp and a block output current of 15 Amps at an ambient temperature of 35 degrees Celsius. The maximum inrush current is 10 Amps for up to 10 milliseconds. In addition to that, the steady-state output current is 2 Amps per circuit.
