Technical Information

The 6240BP10411 DC I/O Block is a source type, 24 Volts DC I/O block from ABB. It has 16 discrete channels that can be configured as inputs, outputs, or tri-state inputs individually. The 6240BP10411 DC I/O Block comes as a complete device with the I/O block, electronic assembly, and terminal block assembly all included. The weight of the module is 4 pounds and the recommended operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The physical characteristics of the module include 18 to 56 Volts DC of operating voltage, 1500 Volts of block to block isolation, 68.8 Watts of heat dissipation, and 2.2 megaohms of insulation resistance.

 

The 6240BP10411 DC Source I/O Block consists of electromechanical sensors and 2-wire and 3-wire solid-state sensors. This module must be used with a 24 Volts DC power supply. All the output devices can be connected to the channels of this source I/O block and the negative pin of the power supply. The input devices must be connected to the positive side of the power supply. It uses Terminals 6 to 21 of the terminal block for 16 I/O channels. Terminal 6 corresponds to I/O Channel 1. It provides the software configuration facilities to configure each channel as an input or output. The 6240BP10411 DC Source I/O Block accepts a single AWG #12 wire or 2 AWG #14 wires. It has LEDs to indicate its operating status. If an input acts as a tri-state input, its indicator LED glows dimly to indicate that the input is in the off-state. It supports diagnostic facilities including open wire detection, overload, no-load, and failed switch diagnostics.
