The 6235BP10910 Analog Input Block is a current source input module manufactured by ABB. It has 6 input channels that can be used to interface with field devices. This device requires 24 Volts DC or 48 Volts DC power source. The 6235BP10910 Analog Input Block can be used as a bus switching module that only requires a low level of voltage. It also provides 6 input channels even if it is configured as a BSM controller. The inputs of the module accept 4 to 20 milliamps of input current and each input channel uses a 24 Volts rated current loop power supply. It can be installed on machines, racks, or panels individually or as a group in any sequence or combination.
The 6235BP10910 Current Source Analog Input Block uses a voltage to frequency converter as well as a counter for converting the current to a digital value. It also offers a programmable conversion time of 16 to 400 milliseconds which increases the accuracy of the converted value. Some of the characteristics of the input channels are 4 to 20 milliamps of the input range, 0 to 25 milliamps of over-range capacity, 1 microamp of input resolution, and 0.1% of the full-scale reading input accuracy at 25 degrees Celsius. The 6235BP10910 Current Source Analog Input Block has 2 LED indicators which are the “Unit OK” and “I/O Enabled” indicators. It has an enclosure that is made of cast aluminum. The approximate weight of the module is 4 pounds. This self-contained, easy to use, and configurable I/O module helps to interface field devices in an application to the I/O communication bus.
