Terminal Assembly for 6235BP10810
The 6235BP10830 block from GE Fanuc is an input block with 6 independent inputs. This input block is made to be part of a PLC or programmable logic controller and it can connect to up to 6 external devices at a time. All of the inputs on the 6235BP10830 input block convert analog currents into digital values by using counters and voltage to frequency converter devices. The digital value in turn is converted into the engineering units that the CPU in the PLC can use to carry out its applications. The inputs all have independent power sources that are each rated at 24 Volts and that are current loop power supplies that are capable of supplying currents at levels of 25 milliamps.
Additionally, the GE Fanuc 6235BP10830 input block supports upper and lower alarm limits for each of the 6 inputs that can be independently set, and if either the upper or lower alarm limits are exceeded on a given input, the input block will indicate that a fault has a occurred and it will send a fault message to the handheld monitor and the CPU in the PLC that the block is part of. Other diagnostics features that the 6235BP10830 input block has are the input underrange, input overrange, and the input open wire diagnostics. The input underrange fault occurs when the current level is negative or at 0 milliamps, the input overrange fault occurs when the current signal exceeds 25 milliamps, and the input open wire fault occurs when the input current level is below 2 milliamps.
