Electronic Assembly for 6235BP10810

Technical Information

The 6235BP10820 input block has been designed and manufactured by GE Fanuc to connect to a variety of other devices in an industrial programmable logic controller or PLC system. The 6235BP10820 input block is an analog current source block that comes with 6 inputs. These 6 inputs support a signal in the range of 4 to 20 milliamps and they can be used to interface the PLC with devices that produce signals in this range. Each input also provides a current loop power supply that is rated at 24 Volts, and each input is isolated from the others. If the 6235BP10820 input block is installed in a redundant bus cable system, there is a dedicated digital output that is used to drive a Bus Switching Module or BSM. This BSM must be rated for 24/48 Volts DC.

The GE Fanuc 6235BP10820 analog current source input block has several configurable features and settings such as the input conversion time, the CPU redundancy, and the function that converts the circuit scaling values into engineering units for different applications. The input block weighs 4 pounds and its dimensions are 8.83 x 3.5 x 3.94 inches. It supports a block to block isolation rating of 1500 Volts for 1 minute and a group to group isolation rating of 1500 Volts RMS. The LEDs featured on the 6235BP10820 input block are the “Unit OK” LED that shows that the block is working properly and the “I/O Enabled” LED that indicates when the inputs are enabled.
