The 6231BP10920 electronic assembly is an electronic assembly that has been designed by ABB to operate with the Genius blocks from GE Fanuc Automation. This electronic assembly provides all the electronic circuits and components that are necessary to power up the input and output current source analog blocks. This electronic assembly comes equipped to power 4 input circuits and 2 output circuits for different devices as long as these have an operating rating between the 4 and 20 milliamps. The ABB 6231BP10920 electronic assembly comes with the ability to provide isolation to all its circuits without the need for a separate power source. This is achieved with specific materials and components.

 

The ABB 6231BP10920 electronic assembly comes with an input alarm detection feature and a selectable input conversion feature. This device also works with a CPU redundancy feature and high and low alarms. All these features are user-configurable. The ABB 6231BP10920 electronic assembly inputs use voltage to frequency conversion to translate analog currents to a digital value, while the output circuits are electrically common to each other. The output data format for all the information exported from the block is 2 bytes of engineering unit data. The block translates these units into the analog output signal used by the output devices. This block can be managed through the hand-held monitor that is version 7.3 or later. When a fault has occurred, the block will employ its diagnostic tools and it will report the faults to the hand-held monitor so the users can take appropriate corrective actions to correct the faults and continue to control the operation process.
