The 6230BP10720 Electronics Assembly is designed for the 6230B Current/Voltage I/O Block made by ABB. It is designed to be used with a 6230BP10710 I/O Module or with a 6230BP10730 Terminal Assembly Module. It consists of a microprocessor unit that has the responsibility to handle the intelligent processing and computational tasks in the I/O block. It provides 12 bits of input and output resolution, 2 milliseconds of input and output update frequency, input filtering, and input and output range selection. Its digital to analog converter converts the counter values to a current or voltage output. The 6230BP10720 Electronics Assembly also performs automatic calibrations of the analog to digital and digital to analog converters to maintain accurate I/O block operation.    

 

The 6230BP10720 Electronics Assembly offers advanced diagnostic facilities while also ensuring reliable and accurate block operation. Some of the diagnostic features offered by this assembly include open wire detection, low input detection, high alarm detection, and input and output over range and under range detection. It drives the indicator LEDs of the I/O block to visually indicate the status of the operation. The 6230BP10720 Electronics Assembly can be configured by using a hand-held monitor. It supports any type of hand-held monitor that can display 16 bits of output data on the monitor screen. This assembly is a removable device that comes with a modular and rugged design for easy installation. It has the facilities to perform advanced mathematical tasks and communication tasks. It can be grounded by connecting into a compatible terminal assembly. This electronics assembly can be installed or replaced without disturbing the entire field wiring setup of the I/O block. It is advised to use a block puller to remove the device from the terminal assembly for best results.
