The 6230BP10710 Analog I/O Block belongs to the TRIO Series of products that are designed by ABB. It comes with 4 inputs, 2 outputs, and a 115 Volts AC power supply. This module is used to interface the field devices to the programmable logic controller or PLC. The electronics assembly of the module consists of a microprocessor for intelligent processing. The characteristics of the output channels on the block include 12 bits of output resolution, a range selection feature, 4 milliseconds of output update frequency, and output diagnostics facilities. The 6230BP10710 Analog I/O Block supports hand-held monitors that can be used to configure its more advanced features.

 

The 6230BP10710 Analog I/O Block, which is shipped as a complete module, consists of an electronics assembly and a terminal assembly. Its recommended operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The diagnostics facilities offered by this module include open wire detection, feedback error detection, and under range/over-range detection. It supports bus switching module configurations. The enclosure of the module is made of cast aluminum. The approximate weight of the module is 4 pounds. The 6230BP10710 Analog I/O Block comes with 2 indicator LEDs to visually indicate the status of the module. Its typical terminal drift at 25 degrees Celsius is 10 PPM per degree Celsius and the maximum thermal drift is 40 PPM per degree Celsius. This module can automatically calibrate its analog to digital converter and its digital to analog converter to compensate for the changes which occur due to the thermal drift. The maximum accuracy of the module at 25 degrees Celsius is +/- 0.5% of the full scale.
