Technical Information

The HE693THM800 module is manufactured by Horner Electric and classified as a high-density analog thermocouple input module for PLCs. The HE693THM800 input module features an A/D conversion resolution of up to 19-bits of delta-sigma analog to a digital conversion. The common ratio of rejection is greater than 86 dB and this feature reduces noise along the transmission lines. The galvanization of all channels is up to 250 Volts RMS AC or 250 Volts DC channel to channel and chassis to chassis with a response time of 150 milliseconds. The power consumption rating is 0.85 (+/-0.15) Amps in general or about -24 Amps at 2 independent inputs. It offers 2 LED indicators (the “FAULT” and “RUN” indicators) and an additional 4-indicator dot matrix with symbols for highlighting the current operational mode, and for showing errors, codes, and information about the device’s operation.

 

The HE693THM800 module also comes with a low-voltage differential signal TIA /EIA-644 protocol for integrity checking to ascertain the overall accuracy of the module which is 0.15% of the full scale at 25 degrees Celsius for Type B modules, and for Type R, S, and T modules, it is 0.1% of the full scale at 25 degrees Celsius, and for all other types it is -0.04% of the full scale at 25 degrees Celsius. Elements of the chassis that are installed externally can also be used to protect the device from an overvoltage of +/-60 Volts AC/DC continuously. Other features include but are not limited to cold junction compensation which is sensed at the RTD and subjected to the thermocouple before use by the safety function. Furthermore, the HE693THM800 module can acquire and support millivolt operation because it supports the TSR sensor types.
