The Horner Electric HE693THM440 module is a thermocouple module that accepts signals from Type B, E, T, S, K, and J devices and that is classified as a Series 90-30 or Series 90-70 PLC I/O module. Before the A/D conversion in the HE693THM440 thermocouple module, the signal from the AIM7 device is rerouted to the system's global amplifier for programmable applications. Errors that are commonly caused by extreme environmental temperatures are minimized by applying a thermocouple module to a terminal that is also mounted with isotherm blocks that can detect the temperature variations in the environment accurately and allow sensitive industrial equipment to be protected. Additionally, other protective devices are available to minimize the noise that may be picked up along the signal input lines.

 

Other features of the HE693THM440 thermocouple module that safeguard the device from the short circuits include the positive and negative leads for the thermocouple signal that are connected to one of the signal terminals and that ensure that each input line possesses its own protective shield. The A/D converter handles the compensation circuitry which is always rated at 100 millivolts in the 32-channel cold junction setup. The channels read 0 Volts at 0 degrees Celsius. The flexibility of the HE693THM440 thermocouple module is noteworthy and it supports the following modification; its resolutions can be improved by increasing the PGA gain when the temperatures around the thermocouple are low. The A/D converter is rated between 0 and 10 Volts as the low input range, or the bit module can be adjusted from 16 bits to 12 bits to improve the resolution.
