Technical Information

The Horner Electric HE693ASC222 Basic Module has interoperability and a wide range of functionalities to complement the components of other software modules. It is a Horner PLC I/O device which produces math functions and language capabilities that can be used by any Allen-Bradley processor, and which can communicate through block transfer with the 1171 input and output system. The HE693ASC222 Basic Module has a 13K-word battery-backed RAM that is designated for storing user programs and another 32K words of memory capacity in the EPROM for storing the user routine software. The RAM battery can be removed without removing the whole module from its rack in the I/O when the battery needs to be changed. The power derived from the backplane by the module can reach 1.5 Amps.

 

The HE693ASC222 Basic Module can function independently with multiple modules within the same rack. With the handshaking and synchronization functionality, the HE693ASC222 Basic Module can support bidirectional X-OFF and X-ON functions. For program access, there is a battery-backed calendar and clock. Commands can be entered from an interactive terminal. The module has a 0 to 60 degrees Celsius operating temperature range. There are 5 LED indicators on the front panel of the module which indicate the operating status of the module. It is also possible to monitor the battery status in the module by employing the XBY(77B4H) function that signifies a low battery when the module is using electrically isolated backplane power at up to 500 Volts even without an external power source. Both ports on the module have a default operational Baud rate of 1200 Baud but they can operate at up to 19.2K Baud with a maximum cable length of 50 feet.
