Technical Information

The HE670RLY168 output module is a module manufactured by Horner Electric that is compatible with the GE Fanuc Field Control modules in the GE Field Control PLC I/O module product line. It provides 16 relay points that are all isolated, and because of the isolation of each point, the module is very flexible in mixing voltage levels. Additionally, the Field Control I/O modules like this one are rugged and compact with sturdy aluminum housings and they provide discrete analog I/O for intelligent local signal processing. The grounding system for the HE670RLY168 output module is made possible because the I/O terminal blocks are mountable on the DIN rail panels. To the Bus Interface Units or BIUs in a PLC, as many as 8 Field Control modules like the HE670RLY168 output module can be connected to make a control “station” where BIS is available in Profibus, FIP, and Genius formats.

 

Because of the space available on the front label of the HE670RLY168 output module, identifying all the circuits is easier than it is with conventional and discrete analog thermocouple and RTD input modules. All the modules are visible through the transparent cover, and the I/O LEDs indicate the module’s operating status. It is 2 inches (5.25 centimeters) by 3.25 inches (8.2 centimeters) by 2.8 inches (7.3 centimeters) in dimensions, excluding the projection that extends into the terminal block. The ambient air temperature range for proper module operation is 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. The peak to peak displacement-resistant design of the HE670RLY168 output module enhances shock absorption, and it is more resistant to the noise levels common  in industrial environments than other modules. The HE670RLY168 output module can accommodate ground screws for the attachment of ground wires to the Bus Interface Units.
