Product Description

The IC697PWR711 is a GE Fanuc manufactured 100 Watt Power Supply Module for the Series 90-70.
Features include operation from 120 VAC, 240 VAC, or 125 VDC, and there are three output voltages (100 watts total) as follows: +5 VDC output up to 20 amps; +12 VDC output up to 2 amps; -12 VDC output up to 1 amp. Other highlights include slide-in rack mount construction, electronic short circuit overcurrent protection, two rack operation from a single power supply, power factor correction for AC operation, and a jumper for overvoltage protection devices.

This module is rack-mounted and plugs directly into a 48-pin backplane-mounted connector in the leftmost slot of any standard IC697 rack or VME Integrator’s rack. It provides +5 volt, +12 volt and -12 volt power, and logic level sequencing signals to the backplane. The IC697PWR711 can be used in a single rack application or may to provide power to a second rack if the total load is within the supply rating. A prewired cable allows interconnection to the second rack. The power supply output will ride through at least one input line cycle with a total loss of input power at full load. Protection is delivered for overcurrent and overvoltage fault conditions.

This power supply module can operate from 120 VAC or 240 VAC nominal inputs. A nominal 125 VDC source is also an option. The specified range of operation is from 90 VAC to 264 VAC and from 100 VDC to 150 VDC. For uninterrupted operation (more than one hour) at low line voltages and high temps, some power derating must be applied.

Technical Specifications

Nominal Rated Voltage: 120/240 VAC or 125 VDC
Input Voltage Range: 90 to 264 VAC or 100 to 150 VDC
Input Power: 135 watts at full load
Output Power: 100 watts
Location on Baseplates:  Leftmost Slot
DC Output: + 5VDC, +12 VDC and -12 VDC

The IC697PWR711 power module from GE Fanuc has been designed and manufactured as part of the GE Series 90-70 line of industrial power modules. The IC697PWR711 power module can provide other modules and systems with either AC or DC power, and its nominal voltage ratings are 120/240 Volts AC and 125 Volts DC. It can also deliver 100 Watts of maximum output power. The IC697PWR711 power module’s input power ratings are 135 Watts for typical operation and 160 Watts at the maximum. This power module is typically used in single-rack applications, but it can also provide power to a second rack as long as its power rating is enough to provide both racks with a reliable supply of power. It is easy to connect the IC697PWR711 power module to the second rack with a prewired cable.

The GE Fanuc Series 90-70 IC697PWR711 power module is made to operate in an ambient temperature range from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit or 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. It can operate at higher temperatures too, but only after it has been derated to prevent damage. When this power module is being used to supply AC voltage to devices, it has an electronic short circuit protection feature as well as a power factor correction feature for safe operation. The AC operating voltage range for the IC697PWR711 power module is 90 to 264 Volts AC. Its DC voltage range for operation is 100 to 150 Volts DC. The IC697PWR711 power module uses a jumper for overvoltage protection.
