GE Fanuc manufactures the IC695PSD140 module as a power supply unit and a member of the RX3i PACSystems series. This module is a multi-purpose power supply and it can operate in the redundancy applications as well as in load-sharing applications, making it a multipurpose unit. The IC695PSD140 power supply features 3 different output points rated at 5.1 Volts DC, a relay output rated 24 Volts DC, and an output voltage of 3.3 Volts DC for internal use. The 3 outputs are well-matched and usable with the RX3i modules. This multipurpose power supply is installable in the universal backplane of RX3i PACSystems, and it occupies a single slot. It is used as a power supply module in the system, but it can also be combined with other similar power supplies, and it can be combined with a maximum of 3 additional modules.

The GE Fanuc RX3i PACSystems IC695PSD140 power supply module comes with LED indicators that provide status updates about the power supply. Every LED indicator is designed to show the operating status the power supply module. It has an input voltage ranging from 18 to 30 Volts DC, a nominal voltage rating of 24 Volts DC, and a maximum of 40 Watts of output power rating, with its 3 outputs included. This unit has no isolation, and it cannot be used with the GE Fanuc IC695PSA040 or IC695PSD040 power supplies under any circumstance. These units are not compatible with the IC695PSD140 power supply module and attempting to use them together can lead to equipment damage.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC695PSD140?  Answer:  The IC695PSD140 is a Multi-Purpose, 24 VDC, 40 Watt Power Supply from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series.
  • Question:  From what input voltage source range does IC695PSD140 operate?  Answer:  This power supply operates from an input voltage source range of 18 VDC to 30 VDC.
  • Question:  What 3 outputs does this power supply have?  Answer:
    • +5.1 VDC output
    • +24 VDC relay output that can be used to power circuits on Output Relay modules
    • +3.3 VDC which, is used internally by RX3i modules with IC695 catalog numbers
  • Question:  How many IC695PSD140's can be installed in a PACSystems RX3i Universal Backplane?  Answer:  Only 1 or it can be combined with up to 3 additional multi-purpose power supplies.
  • Question:  With what can IC695PSD140 not be used?  Answer:  This power supply cannot be used with other RX3i power supplies in redundant or increased capacity modes.
  • Question:  What do the 4 LEDs indicate?  Answer:
    • Power (Green/Amber). When this LED is green, it indicates power is being supplied to the backplane. When this LED is amber, power is applied to the power supply, but the power supply switch is off.
    • P/S Fault (Red). When this LED is lit, it indicates the power supply has failed and is no longer supplying sufficient voltage to the backplane.
    • Over Temperature (Amber). When this LED is lit, it indicates the power supply is near or exceeding its maximum operating temperature.
    • Overload (Amber). When this LED is lit, it indicates the power supply is near or exceeding its maximum output capability on at least one of its outputs.
  • Question:  What should I do if my IC695PSD140 is not working properly?  Answer:  Your IC695PSD140 may need repair.
