Product Description

The IC695PSA040 is a 120/240 volt AC or 125 volt DC, 40 Watt Power Supply from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series.  It can work with an input source of either alternating or direct current. Its operating voltage is 85-264 VAC or else 100-300 VDC.

The RX3i power supply has three outputs:

+3.3 VDC - for internal use by RX3i modules that have IC695 catalog numbers.

+5.1 VDC

+24 VDC relay - can be used to power circuits on Output Relay modules.

The PACSystems RX3i power supply is a scalable, rack-based system, which provides fast and consistent control between separate modules. Users can develop and maintain their own custom control functions. This includes visualisation, motion, and networking.

Another great feature is the PACMotion Controller that provides all the flexibility and machine logic necessary to use advanced machine automation in your business.

Though designed specifically to support the PACSystem RX3i, only one IC695PSA040 power supply can be installed in the Universal Backplane at a time. The power supply is not compatible with other RX3i supplies, either in increased capacity or redundant modes.

The power supply has four LEDs that indicate the power supply’s status. The power LED is the top one and will be green when power is supplied to the backplane or amber if the power supply switch is off. When the P/S Fault LED glows red, the supply has failed and is not supplying voltage to the backplane. When the power supply is close to the maximum operating temperature or is above it, the Overtemp LED glows amber. When the power supply is close to or over the maximum output capability on any output, the Overload LED glows amber.

It is important that the door of this unit remains closed during operation. This prevents against shock hazards, which could cause severe or fatal injuries.

The IC695PSA040 module is an industrial power supply module from the GE Fanuc RX3i PACSystems series that is made to supply the power to devices in the RX3i PACSystems PLCs. The IC695PSA040 power supply module can provide devices with AC voltage in the range of 85 to 264 Volts AC, and with DC voltage in the range of 100 to 300 Volts DC. Its maximum input power rating at a full load is 70 Watts. The nominal input voltage ratings of the IC695PSA040 power supply module are 120/240 Volts AC and 125 Volts DC. It supports isolation between the input and the backplane that is rated at 250 Volts AC continuously and at 1500 Volts AC for 1 minute.

The GE Fanuc IC695PSA040 RX3i PACSystems power supply module has 3 different outputs. The first output is the 3.3 Volts DC rated output that is meant for connecting to other RX3i PACSystems modules that are part of the RX3i IC695 product line. The second output is rated at 5.1 Volts DC, and the third output is rated at 24 Volts DC and it is meant to power the circuits on compatible output relay modules. The IC695PSA040 power supply module should never be installed on any backplane that is not an RX3i PACSystems universal backplane, and only 1 IC695PSA040 power supply module can be used at a time in an RX3i PACSystems PLC. This power supply cannot be used in any kind of redundancy system. This power supply module is scalable and it comes with machine logic.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC695PSA040?  Answer:  The IC695PSA040 is a 120/240 VAC or 125 VDC, 40 Watt Power Supply from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series.
  • Question: From what input voltage source range does IC695PSA040 operate?   Answer:  This power supply operates from an input voltage source range of 85 to 264 VAC or 100 VDC to 300 VDC.
  • Question: What 3 outputs does this power supply have?   Answer:
    • +5.1 VDC output
    • +24 VDC relay output that can be used to power circuits on Output Relay modules
    • +3.3 VDC which, is used internally by RX3i modules with IC695 catalog numbers
  • Question: How many IC695PSA040's can be installed in a PACSystems RX3i Universal Backplane?   Answer:  Only 1
  • Question: With what can IC695PSA040 not be used?   Answer:  This power supply cannot be used with other RX3i power supplies in redundant or increased capacity modes.
  • Question: What do the 4 LEDs indicate?   Answer:
    • Power (Green/Amber). When this LED is green, it indicates power is being supplied to the backplane. When this LED is amber, power is applied to the power supply, but the power supply switch is off.
    • P/S Fault (Red). When this LED is lit, it indicates the power supply has failed and is no longer supplying sufficient voltage to the backplane.
    • Over Temperature (Amber). When this LED is lit, it indicates the power supply is near or exceeding its maximum operating temperature.
    • Overload (Amber). When this LED is lit, it indicates the power supply is near or exceeding its maximum output capability on at least one of its outputs.
  • Question: What should I do if my IC695PSA040 is not working properly?   Answer:  Your IC695PSA040 may need repair.
