Product Description

IC694ALG390 is manufactured by GE Fanuc for the Rx3i PacSystem. The IC694ALG390 is a 2-channel analog module with two output channels and the capability to convert digital data. The channels update after each scan at an approximate update rate of 5 milliseconds. The IC694ALG390 module outputs can be configured to Default or Hold Last State if the CPU resets for any reason or enters stop mode.

The IC694ALG390 has a voltage range usage of -10 to +10 volts. The external voltage ranges from 18VDC to 30VDC with a 10% external voltage ripple. The module’s location is important when analyzing power sources. If the module is located in an RX3i Universal Backplane, an external source of Isolated +24 VDC is required to provide module power. If the module is located in an Expansion Backplane, its primary power source can be the Isolated +24 VDC from the backplane power supply or an external Isolated +24 VDC supply connected to the terminal block. If the external source is between 27.5-30 VDC, it takes over the module’s load from the Isolated 24 VDC system supply. An external source should be used if the user needs to maintain hold last state operation during a loss of backplane power.

Field connections should be wired using a decent grade of twisted, shielded instrumentation cable to minimize capacitive loading and noise. The shields should be connected to GND on the user terminal connector block. The GND connection provides access to the backplane (frame ground), which results in rejection of noise caused by shield drain currents.

Customer Questions and Answers

  • Question:  What is an IC694ALG390? Answer:  The IC694ALG390 is a 2 Channel, Voltage, Analog Output module from the GE Fanuc RX3i Series.
  • Question:  What does IC694ALG390 have and what is it capable of doing?  Answer:  IC694ALG390 has 2 output channels and each of those channels is capable of converting 13 bits of binary (digital) data to an analog output signal for field devices.
  • Question:  What does IC694ALG390 provide?  Answer:  This module provides outputs in the range of -10 volts to +10 volts. Both channels are updated on every scan.
  • Question:  How can IC694ALG390's outputs be set up?  Answer:  They can be set up to either Default to 0 volts or Hold-Last-State if the CPU goes to the Stop mode or Reset.
  • Question:  How is the selection of the output default made?  Answer:  It is made by a jumper on the module. (If a jumper is not installed, the outputs Hold Last State.
  • Question:  Into what slot can IC694ALG390 be installed?  Answer:  This module can be installed in any I/O slot of an RX3i system.
  • Question:  What is required if IC694ALG390 is located in an RX3i Universal Backplane?  Answer:  If this is the case, then an external source of isolated +24 VDC is required to provide power for the module.
  • Question:  What should I do if my IC694ALG390 is not working properly?  Answer:  Your IC694ALG390 may need repair
