The IC660EBA023 electronic assembly is a GE Fanuc Genius I/O thermocouple input block electronic assembly. This electronic assembly belongs to the GE Fanuc Genius I/O block series, and it provides an interface to a broad range of analog, discrete, and special-purpose devices on the Genius Bus. The IC660EBA023 electronic assembly and the IC660TBA023 terminal assembly form the Genius thermocouple block. Every Genius block requires a terminal assembly for base wiring, connection to field devices and handheld monitors, and for storing the block configuration settings via EEPROM. The electronic assembly provides microprocessing and performs the block’s communications, computation, and data storage functions. The IC660EBA023 electronic assembly has 24/48 Volts DC rated input blocks with 6 input channels in 3 isolated groups of 2. Each group has 2 thermocouples and 2 Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) input circuits, and there is a 300 Volts isolation voltage rating between groups.

 

The IC660EBA023 electronic assembly block primarily monitors temperature signals, but it can also be used for measuring low-level voltage input signals from field devices. Each input channel is designed to interface the J, K, T, E, B, R, S, and N-type thermocouple signals. Additionally, each input channel can be configured as an internal sensor, an external sensor, or a user-defined value. For greater measurement accuracy, each input measurement can be adjusted up to +/-100 degrees Celsius or +/-100 degrees Fahrenheit. The IC660EBA023 electronic assembly is software-configured, and it provides advanced diagnostics features like open-wire detection, internal fault reporting, high/low input alarms, and under-range/over-range input indication. It has an open design that supports mounting in any location or configuration, and its compatible terminal base assembly allows for the removal or replacement of the terminal assembly without needing to reconfigure the field-side wiring.

The final letter in the part number (ex. IC660EBA022K) indicates the revision. Revision K or later use the newer style electronic housing and therefore needs the newer style plastic door and may indicate some compatibility issues with the terminal strip.
