The GE Fanuc IC600BF814 Series Six thermocouple input module is a microprocessor-controlled input module for the GE Series Six PLC system. This module provides electrically-isolated inputs for the detection of low-level signals generated from thermocouple devices. It belongs to the GE Series Six thermocouple family. Thermocouples in this family are available in 7 different thermocouple versions (Type J, Type K+, Type S, Type T, Type B, Type E, and Type R). The IC600BF814 thermocouple input module and every other thermocouple module in the series are used in industrial applications such as chemical processing, injection molding, and annealing furnace applications. The IC600BF814 thermocouple input module is a T-type thermocouple module with copper/constantan thermocouple terminals, and it comes with built-in diagnostics capabilities that include open thermocouple detection for swift troubleshooting.

 

The IC600BF814 thermocouple input module has 8 electrically-isolated inputs that can be connected directly to thermocouple devices and external Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) elements. The IC600BF814 thermocouple input module features dual 4-channel thermocouple conditioners that provide low-level signal conditioning functions including 1000 Volts DC isolation, high common-mode rejection, input filtering, and low drift amplification. It also has an onboard microprocessor with a high-level configurable gain amplifier and a 13-bit analog to digital (A/D) converter. When the input receives a signal, the onboard microprocessor scales linearize, and converts the input signals to temperature readings (Celsius or Fahrenheit), before passing it along with other binary information to the CPU. Temperature readings are sent to the CPU in either a sign-magnitude or 2’s complements data format. The IC600BF814 thermocouple input module is installed on an I/O rack or in the Series 60 CPU rack, and it has DIP switches for configuring basic module operations.
