Technical Information

The IC670CHS103 I/O terminal block supports hot insertion, and it is a product of GE Fanuc. It is manufactured as part of the Genius Field Control series for use with the IC670C, IC670CH, and the IC670CHS modules. This terminal block is generally used as a generic wiring base that provides backplane communications, a terminal for user connections, and for module mounting. One terminal block supports the installation of up to 2 modules. These modules are bolted onto the block to enhance vibration resistance, and the modules can be detached without altering the field wiring. The IC670CHS103 I/O terminal block features 20-pin male connectors that are used for input and output wiring. It comes with a mating connector as well as connectors that are keyed to help prevent improper insertion. The AMP D-3000 series device contains tin-plated contacts that are compatible with the 1-175217-5 connector to provide a high-contact force receptacle for the 20 to 24 gauge wire. It can also be used with the 1-175218-5 connector to provide a high-contact force receptacle for the 16 to 20 gauge wire.

 

Additionally, the GE Fanuc IC670CHS103 I/O terminal block features a projecting alignment slot at every position required for a module. The IC670CHS103 terminal block is made to be used with modules that have a projecting tab that fits into the alignment slot. The IC670CHS103 input and output terminal block requires version 2.1 or a later version of the Bus Interface Unit to allow for the hot removal or hot insertion of the modules into or out of the I/O station. It is recommended that the IC670CHS00x terminal blocks be matched with the IC670CHS10x terminal blocks for the best results. This terminal block should also be used alongside a grounded and conductive DIN rail.
