Technical Information

The GE Fanuc IC670CHS101 terminal block is a hot insertion, barrier-style, I/O terminal block. It is part of the GE Field Control series by GE Intelligent Platforms and GE Fanuc, and this I/O terminal block comes with a projecting positioning slot that is made for each module position. It is designed and intended for use with the GE modules with a catalog number with the suffix “J” or above which feature a projecting tab which fits well into the positioning or alignment slot. The operators of the IC670CHS101 I/O terminal block will need a specific version of the BUI to enable the removal or insertion of the modules found into the I/O station. Generally, it is essential to mix the IC670CHS00x and IC670CHS10x terminal blocks in a common I/O station. 

 

The IC670CHS101 terminal block, like the IC670CHS101B and later versions of the terminal block, has a metal grounding strip. These terminal blocks are intended for use with a grounded and conducive DIN rail. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS101 I/O terminal block is not recommended for use with the BIU terminal block or the A-version I/O terminal block, which has no metallic grounding strip. If used, this system would have poor immunity to noise. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS101 I/O terminal block is made to be installed on a DIN rail. When it is installed, the resulting I/O terminal block is secured by a pair of stable labels, which also need to be put in place during the installation of the terminal block to protect against the environmental contamination of the components of the IC670CHS101 terminal block.
