THERMOCOUPLE COLD JUNCTION COMPENSATION BASE GE Fanuc Field Control CHS004 IC670C
The GE Fanuc IC670CHS004 thermocouple cold junction compensation base is a thermocouple terminal block for the GE Genius Field Control system. This terminal block provides local reference junction compensation for thermocouples that are used alongside Genius Field Control thermocouple modules. The IC670CHS004 thermocouple cold junction compensation base belongs to the GE Fanuc Genius Field Control module series. A typical field control system comprises a bus interface unit which performs I/O scanning, diagnostics, and communications, the I/O module, and the I/O terminal block which provides a base for all the field-side wiring. The IC670CHS004 base has 2 built-in thermistors which provide a temperature-sensing capability to the block terminals. Like the I/O terminal blocks, the IC670CHS004 base has 2 separate sets of terminals for connecting thermocouples, and each connected thermocouple is held firmly in place with a screw terminal on the block.
The IC670CHS004 thermocouple cold junction compensation base has 2 wire-to-board connectors on its rear end for connecting to I/O terminal blocks. Genius Field Control thermocouple modules are installed on the I/O terminal block (IC670CHS003, -002, or -001), while the I/O terminal block provides a connector to connector interface between the module and the thermocouple terminal block. The IC670CHS004 terminal block is mounted on a grounded DIN rail in the same manner as every other Genius Field Control terminal block. To install the IC670CHS004 thermocouple terminal block, slide the terminal block’s tab over the DIN rail and push the terminal block down until it fits perfectly into the DIN rail. Tighten the DIN rail screw with the recommended screwing torque to secure the terminal tightly on the DIN rail. Repeat the above procedure in reverse order to remove the terminal block.
