The IC670CHS003 I/O terminal block with connectors is manufactured by GE Fanuc as part of the GE Field Control product line. It is a generic wiring terminal block designed to be the terminal that the operators use for connections, backplane communication, and the mounting of the modules. It allows 2 modules to be installed on it at a time, with the modules bolted on to enhance their vibration resistance. However, these modules allow for removal without tampering with the entire field wiring system. The GE Fanuc IC670CHS003 I/O terminal block with connectors features 20-pin male connectors that are dedicated to I/O wiring. Like most I/O bases, this terminal block comes with a projecting positioning or alignment slot. It is suitable for use with the modules with the suffix “J” or above in the catalog number. Such modules feature a projecting tab which is ideal for positioning them easily.
The IC670CHS003 I/O terminal block should be mounted on a DIN rail that is stable and conducive. It is necessary to mix the CHS10x terminal blocks with the CHS00x terminal blocks in a single input and output station. A BUI or Bus Interface Unit that is version 2.1 or later is needed for the hot removal or hot insertion of the modules within the I/O station. During the installation of the IC670CHS003 I/O terminal block onto the DIN rail, it should be tilted and positioned above the rail to catch the rail behind the tabs within the terminal block. The clamp screw on the DIN rail should be tightened with a maximum recommended torque of 8 pounds on an inch to 10 pounds on an inch.
