The Is-5rc scanner is a DVT intelligent scanner manufactured by DVT Cognex. The scanner is CE certified. The scanner is used to scan product defects, take measurements, and read code at a faster speed than other scanners are capable of. The scanner helps to assure quality in manufacturing and gather different parameters and information in an industrial setting. It is compatible with all the DVT series vision sensors. It is equipped with 2 different ports for Ethernet communication. It comes with the RJ 45 connector and the RS 232 port for an internal network. The scanner device has LED indicators for status and result updates. The Is-5rc intelligent scanner produces images in the form of pixels. An standard image resolution produced by the scanner consists of 640 columns and 480 rows pixels. It can produce images in both gray scale and color formats.

 

The Is-5rc intelligent scanner can be connected to a PLC system for application processing and statistical process control data. The information is used as a “PASS” or “FAIL” signal or as a position feedback message to a motion controller. The intelligent scanner operates with high speed. It is able to read both 1D and 2D images. The scanner device is sensitive and it should be protected from EMC noise, dust, and dirt. It has no IP rating and it is not water resistant. The operating temperature should be between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius in a relatively humid environment with no condensation. The Is-5rc intelligent scanner is powered with a voltage source rated at 24 Volts DC and it comes with 8 configurable inputs and outputs. The current rating is 1.5 milliamps.
