DVT 6RU12 Cognex Camera

Technical Information

The SR-6RU12 camera is a Cognex camera. It is part of the DVT vision product line. The camera is an industrial device that takes measurements, inspects product defects, and determines the presence or absence of material, among other functions. It is used to automate things that normally need human intervention. It checks for changes in the contrast in an environment by using a 2D plane and it makes a decision based on the rules set by the operators. The camera needs a 24 Volts DC power supply through the DVT break out board that uses the RJ 45 cable. The current rating is 1.25 Amps. The SR-6RU12 camera has LED indicators that illuminate when the camera is working, and when there is proper power flow. The camera can be easily mounted by using the M4 holes on the back side. It can also be mounted with a DIN rail. The lens on the front of the camera can be easily replaced if needed.

 

The SR-6RU12 Cognex camera has an electronic shuttering speed between 10 us and 1 second with exposure. It has 8 inputs and outputs that can be configured by the operators. The camera input can sink up to 1.5 milliamps of current and the output can source  a maximum of 50 milliamps of current. The SR-6RU12 camera is able to generate high resolution images by using its fast chip. It can be connected with an external monitor that has both a grayscale display and a color display. The camera has its own RAM and flash memory to store firmware information. The Cognex series cameras have more than 6X the processing speed of their competitors.
