Technical Information

The 630-C3E40 Cognex Smart Image Sensor Camera that comes without a built-in light is a discontinued smart image camera designed for machine vision applications. The 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera belongs to the Series 600 smart image sensor camera family with high-resolution CCD imaging technology that is designed for high-precision measurement applications. The 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera is supplied with a FrameWork software CD for application configuration. All of the 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera parameters and settings can be configured by using this highly intuitive, Windows-based programming software. The 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera has a 24 Volts DC power requirement, which is supplied by an isolated and regulated power supply. This power supply provides 210 milliamps of maximum operating current at 24 Volts DC and a minimum power rating of 5 Watts. Every Series 600 camera requires a DVT breakout board for the connection of I/O and power sources.

 

The 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera has an RJ-45 Ethernet 10/100MB port for the high-speed TCP/IP communication protocol that can be controlled with a PC or laptop with an embedded Ethernet Card and that is running the Framework program. When connecting the RJ-45 Ethernet cable, it is recommended that it be connected to a network hub, but if it must be connected directly, a cross-over Ethernet connector or cable must be used. The 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera also has an RJ-11 connector for RS-422 serial communication. This port allows for RS-422 and RS-232 (with an RS-22 to RS-232 converter) communication and for downloading the latest firmware version to the camera, configuring the TCP/IP settings, and communicating with other serial communication-enabled devices. Also available on the 630-C3E40 Sensor Camera is a 15-pin digital I/O and power connector for connecting to the Series 600 I/O breakout board or directly to the I/O.
