Other Available Revisions for the 1746-QS 1746-QS//A
The Allen-Bradley 1746-QS, a synchronized axis control module, has 4 linear displacement transducer inputs plus 4 analog outputs. It belongs to the SLC 500 series. The inputs are optically-isolated for LDT signals. The outputs have a +-10V optical isolation. The 1746-QS records and updates the drive output on the precise position of the axis every 2ms even at high speeds. The module draws 1000mA and 200mA backplane currents at 5 and 24V, respectively. The 1746-QS has an analog voltage output range of -10-10V DC at 5mA, a 12-bit output resolution, and a 2ms module update time.
The fail-safe timers on the 1746-QS disables the drive output for 15µs. The module weighs 1.1 kg. The 1746-QS provides a way to control the positioning of the servo with 4 axes synchronized in a closed-loop. This control enables the motion parameters to be altered even when the axis is still moving. A hydraulic configurator can be used with the 1746-QS to configure and store the axes’ configuration settings, tune an individual axis with disregard to the ladder program, and cater to repetitive axis motion by storing multiple commands. Additionally, the hydraulic configurator enables help screen access and a way to view the motion commands sent to the module (the last 64 commands.)
The 1746-QS uses 32 words both in the SLC processor and the input image table to initiate communication with the Small Logic Controller processor through the backplane. The SLC processor use the module’s M0 and M1 files to write and read the module’s configuration settings. The 1746-QS has 220 inches of maximum input frequency at a resolution of 0.002-inch.
