The Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE2 is a Multi-Channel High-Speed Counter Module for SLC 500 systems. The SLC 500 family uses a wide range of features and options to offer flexibility and efficiency. This allows you to leverage your existing equipment while maximizing your productivity and revenue. The 1746-HSCE2 is compatible with all SLC processors. It has bidirectional counting for high speed inputs from quadrature encoders and various high-speed switches. Additionally, it has two differential quadrature inputs and four single-ended inputs, allowing for precise control of high speed motion. The 1746-HSCE2 has four outputs with a 1 MHz Maximum Input Frequency and Maximum Update Time of 1.5 ms. This unit can be used remotely with the SLC Remote I/O Adapter Module (1747-ASB).
The 1746-HSCE2 can count in either direction with a count value of +/- 8,388,607. Depending on the type of input, the unit can also provide a rate value up to +/-1 MHz. The counters use gate/preset modes to determine count value and capture value. Each of the four counters can preset separately.
The 1746-HSCE2 features six high-speed inputs and supports quadrature encoders with ABZ inputs. The inputs can be wired for differential or single-ended use. The unit also has eight outputs, four real and four virtual. You can configure up to 16 dynamic ranges using rates or counts to control outputs.
