The 1756-OX8I is an isolated contact output module of the ControlLogix series manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It has ratings of 10 to 240 Volts AC or 5 to 135 Volts DC operating voltage, 0.5 to 1.5 Amps contact current, 10.57 BTU per hour thermal dissipation, and 2.9 Watts backplane power. This module features 8 individually isolated outputs, each of which can support loads requiring up to 10 milliamps of current.
Rack optimized or direct connection options can be used for installing the 1756-OX8I module and its remote connections to the module can be achieved through Internet Protocol (IP), ControlNet, or EtherNet network options. It is suitable for transmitting operation and configuration data between controllers and other devices within a ControlLogix system and it can also be mounted on a local 1756 chassis while receiving commands for module configuration and operation from a single Logix5000 controller. The safety requirements of the 1756-OX8I ControlLogix isolated contact output module are through its fault-reporting and diagnostic features. It offers flexible installation options by not disrupting the operations when it is detached or installed in the system. To prevent physical damage to the module, it has to be operated within its power rating limit and in an environment devoid of corrosive gases.
