It is essential that the SD card remain installed in the 1756-L71 controller because that is where the diagnostic data is saved, and this is the information that Rockwell Automation uses when troubleshooting an issue with the controller. It is best to use Rockwell Automation SD cards since there are many other SD cards which have not been tested for compatibility with the controller. In fact, the use of other SD cards may result in data corruption.
