The 1756-CNB is an Allen-Bradley ControlNet bridge that can be used to communicate within control networks. Unlike other communication modules in the 1756 series, the 1756-CNB uses either a standard or non-redundant configuration. If the users’ application contains 40 to 80 Logic connectors per every single module, then the 1756-CNB is an ideal option. With a communication rate of 5 megabytes per second as well as 99 nodes, this Allen-Bradley communication module gives superior speeds to industrial projects. The 1756-CNB does two things: controlling the I/O data—especially when it is used with the Logix5550 controllers for both scheduled and unscheduled data and bridging data that travels between ControlLogix backplanes as well as ControlNet Networks. Make sure that the path information is correct to properly route the messages it receives.
The 1756-CNB, which belongs to the ControlLogix series, it draws a current of 970 mA 5.1 Volts DC. However, if the voltage is 24 Volts DC, its current draw is 1.7 mA. The unit’s power dissipation rate is estimated at 5.14 Watts. The 1756-CNB can support up to 64 bidirectional connections that exist with other ControlNet-based devices. it can be used for both scheduled and unscheduled connections, depending on the configuration of the network. For instance, if the application demands more connections, it will be advisable to add another 1756-CNB module. However, ensure that it is done on the same chassis and network. The module can also be used with 20 other buffers designed for unconnected messages. This Allen-Bradley comes with two ports – one designed for ControlNet BNC and the other for ControlNet RJ45. This bridge module’s thermal dissipation is 17.4 BTU per hour and its slot width is 1 millimeters. The unit weighs 0.57 pounds (0.26 kilograms) and it comes with an open-type enclosure.
